It's National Signing Day!
It's finally here! Boys becoming men! Men becoming wolves!
In a manner of speaking, of course.
The Orange are expecting around 30 new faces to join the ranks today. Syracuse.com has a handy-dandy chart of all the players verbally-committed and whether or not they've signed on the line that is dotted.
Over at The Orange Fizz they've got a running thread with updates as they come in as well.
Looks like Malcolm Cater has signed with the Orange, which is a bit of shock. Cater originally verballed the Orange last summer but told folks recently he was switching to Rutgers. We'll find out what changed his mind once again shortly, I assume.
By the way, if you had any doubts about the rivalry between Syracuse and Rutgers heating up, just look at all of the recruits choosing between becoming an Orange or a Knight. This rivalry is just getting warmed up.
I'm going to list out all of the signed players after the jump and add newbies as they come in. Keep checking back for updates and keep an eye on those fine outlets above. (And check out SBNation.com for national signing day news of interest.)
Update: Some players are already switching positions before they even get here.
Jeremiah Kobena of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx and Steven Rene of Carnasie High School in the Bronx are listed as receivers for the Orange. Both were running backs/receivers in high school. Kobena was named the New York City player of the Year for Manhattan and the Bronx by the Daily News. Rene rushed for more than 1,110 yards as a junior.
Update: Wither Dyshawn Davis? As of 3pm ET he is the only verbal commitment not to send in his LOI. Hmmm...
Update: Dyshawn is in. Whew!

Can I just reitirate that I really hope Myles Davis turns out to be really good?
There is just far too much potential there for him to be mediocre.
yea he panned out
aside from dating the hottest little Latin girl and showing up late for anthropology (though going by how flirty she was I doubt she was exclusively dating him) he never did anything.
Maybe she was just there
to help him understand what all those Latin words were on ancient artifacts?
Ready are you? What know you of ready?
For eight hundred years have I cheered Orange. My own counsel will I keep on who is to be cheered! An Orange must have the deepest commitment, the most serious mind. Thess ones a long time have I watched. All their life they have looked away… to the future, to the horizon. Never their mind on where they were. Hmm? What they were doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. An Orange craves not these things. Your only goal, the Beef Bowl must be.

As ESPN was saying
This class might not be the most talented class, but we’re getting numbers in and that’s what we needed. Maybe now our starters won’t have to play Special Teams, and maybe we won’t allow Maine to recover 7 onside kicks and fake 4 field goals.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10
31 recruits.
Hot damn that is a lot. Way to go Marrone. Some of these will certainly fall off the face of the earth, but it’s still exciting to know we should have bodies and depth if nothing else this year.
Macky MacPherson
is a fantastic name! Hope he, and all these guys, are as good of players as that name is!
