Syracuse-Area Sports Fans Just Scored
When we heard that ESPN was changing it's Syracuse affiliation from 1260AM, it raised a red flag about the state of Syracuse sportstalk radio. What was to become of dear Brent Axe? For their part, 1260 has gotten out ahead of things. The changes, which go official on March 5th, have already begun.
ESPN 1260 is now The Score 1260. The site is still the old logos but you can see what they're changing their look to on the Twitter page. More important than the color scheme on their website, what kind of changes are we looking at for the airwaves...
- "On the Block with Brent Axe" will soon expand to 2-6 p.m. from the current 3-6 p.m. time slot
- Starting next week, Syracuse's home of "Imus in the Morning" from 6-10 a.m.
- 1260 remain the home of the Buffalo Bills, Lemoyne Basketball, and will soon be expanding coverage.
- The Score 1260 will be adding more local programming very soon!
Full press release can be found here. That last part's intriguing for Syracuse sports fans. Local programming related to SU sports? We shall see. I haven't gotten a call about The Troy Nunes Is An Absolute 1am-4am Radio Jamboree & Variety Show yet, but...I'll keep my phone handy.

Aaahhhhh yes....
Exactly what Syracuse needs, 4 hours every morning of the most irrelevant, talentless, and let’s not forget racist, radio host to ever mumble his way through your speakers. He’s the most disturbing looking individual I’ve ever laid eyes on. He looks like a friggin’ Halloween mask.
