Around SBN: Lakers Should Trade Andrew Bynum So He Doesn't Go To Waste

Oh the horror....

If you take a look at Joe Lunardi's newly updated bracketology, (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/bracketology) the first thing you can find is the obvious 1 Seed for Syracuse, and the opponent: 16 seed, Stony Brook. But if you are an insider, like me, you click the match-up and find something potentially horrible.....

Star-divide

First you see the wax poetic on Syracuse:

SYRACUSE
A season sweep of Georgetown is just another piece of a very special Syracuse season. The home loss to Louisville is now forgotten.

Then the terrible news:

STONY BROOK
The America East race is coming down to Stony Brook (10-2) and Vermont.

VERMONT!!!!! Are you kidding me?

In the America East, Stony Brook is 1/2 a game ahead of Vermont. Now I understand the America East Tourney will determine the NCAA team, but can Lunardi torture SU fans anymore than by matching us up with that conference, and potentially that team?

God help us all if that happens because EVERYONE will talk about that terrible day back in 2005.

You know what

I want Vermont to win. Better yet, all the best to them. After 2005, I wanted to play them in any capacity. This is our chance,
REVENGE MY FRIENDS(I hope).

What does Syracuse do...SHUT IT DOWN. Nuff said.

Then...

I want to get Richmond in a later round. We’re settling all the family business.

Hopefully

Nooo!

I want to stay away from Vermont! And Richmond! Far far away!

I don’t want to have nightmares.

Best way to deal with your fears

is to face them head on.

I just saw a Vermont plate on a truck on the way to work today (which is rare, as I am in WA), and it got me all fired up. I hate the whole state so much. Probably unhealthy actually.

Richmons is actually ranked in the top 25 this week

So maybe we don’t want to face them. And the Vermont revenge wouldn’t be as sweet without Tom Brennan there. God, I hate his smug face whenever he’s on my TV talking about Syracuse.

Stony Brook is my father’s alma mater. I’m not quite sure why that’s relevant here, but since I work for him, if the game were to be during the day on the Thursday or Friday, it could get me time off from work to watch the game (though I was able to actually go to the first round game last year, so hopefully either way I could watch….)

Actually

Looking more at that, it would have us playing FSU as an 8 seed, potentially, in round 2. FSU is my sister’s alma mater and my brother’s alma mater, and a personal rooting interest of mine (the 99% of the time they don’t affect Syracuse, that is).

This could call for a family trip to Buffalo.

I want to decimate Vermont

I want the starting five in at the end of the game despite being up 40.

and...

I want Tom Brennan on-hand to watch him weep when its over.

ah, dreams….

Yes. And maybe we could bring Hak back to watch the game

and have him teabag dunk on Tom Brennan during halftime for no other reason than this is a dream already and that would be fucking awesome to see.

Tears of ultimate suffering

This is better than what Vermont deserves.

and annoying to listen to during the game.

If Leo Rautins, Jason Hart or Howard Triche are anywhere in the audience during this game, I think the announcers’ heads might explode.

One of the key contests in Syracuse's march to the national championship in 1959 was a titanic clash with unbeaten Penn State on Nov. 7, 1959 in University Park, PA. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 7 and the Orangemen No. 4.

The 20-18 victory propelled Syracuse to the No. 1 in both the AP and UPI polls which they held for the remainder of the season to claim the consensus National Championship. This is the Universal Newsreel account of that contest.
