With all the talk of SU uniforms lately , thought I'd share this classic cover from the 1980 Basketball program.

Ugh. As if one contrasting color on the waistband isn’t bad enough, now there’s two?! The shorts are too long. Why do the stripes flare out at the bottom like that? And there’s just too many stripes in general. Are we trying to play basketball or induce seizures?

Actually, I think Marquette got their jerseys
The powder blue look and multicolored trim served as the primary inspiration for the Golden Eagles current uniforms.
Their exhibition game
That year is listed as being against the USSR… bit of a step up from Lemoyne. Plus with the Soviets and Georgetown both coming to SU, they had the two most evil forces of the 20th century visit Manley in the same season… no wonder they closed it.
