2011 mock draft
So I was looking on nbadraft.net to see if our friend Wesley was still sitting at Number 3 on the draft board. He was still there (and by the way, although I do love Wes, there is no way he should leapfrog Evan Turner at 2 - that guy is a beast) so I decided to check out the 2011 draft.
Rick Jackson has been showing up on that list and today he checked in at 42. But, another named popped up. Kris Joseph at 22.

Now the man is playing great, has a good game and as Jay Bilas would say, great length. He's really been Mr. Versatility in the past few games.
My question is, do you think Joseph bolts after next year? Hard to say as we will likely see how he handles more of a starring role. But what do you all think?
I know it's next season and there are plenty of topics to discuss. While I'm not really worried about Joseph it's just interesting to start seeing him really starting to develop and get some credit.

If he improves even close to as much as he did this year...
he’s gone.
If he can add consistency to his 3 pt shot (which he seems to be on his way to), he becomes a total nightmare to defend.
He’s been looking very, very good. Huge improvement over last year.
100% agree
He develops range and hits like 39% from distance…then this dude will get a first round grade. 6’8 with a 42 (rumored) inch vertical!!
Question is, does everyone want that? Its always a catch 22 to have a player blow up out of nowhere and leave early rather then have steady development for 2 more years. Course, he blows up next year that most likely would mean a very good team again. What to do!

i too believe that last missing peg
is his ability to shoot from distance. But this too seems like it has been improving. His mid range game is pretty decent
He's gone. He will come back next year with 3 point range to add to his already strong dribble drive.
Kid is a 6’8 sf with a big bag of tools. He’d be crazy to stay.
If he can start knocking down the 3 I don't know how he could stay.
He would probably be a lottery pick and maybe even Top 10. I’d want him to stay, but expect him to declare for the draft. If he is projected late in the first, maybe he stays, but if this year is any indication he will be lottery at least by late next year.
He's gone after this year.
Honestly.
Every time we get to talking about a guy only needing one more tool to develop before going, he’s gone.
I think he’s gonna pull a Donte.
It’ll be three years before he makes noise in the Association, but they’ll be three paid years.
He’s gone now. Gotta win this year.
The 'Cuse is in tha house, oh my God oh my God.
unlike a Donte/Flynn
Kris had no hype coming into the year and wasn’t a high prospect out of college (rivals had him ranked 113th in his class). He’s nowhere near a lottery pick and won’t be this year. He’s not going to leave school early to be a possible late 1st round/early 2nd rounder. If he comes back next year and continues to improve, he’ll be our #1 option, get lots of hype and attention, and have a real shot at being a lottery pick.
No way Kris leaves this year.
Joseph has a much better head on his shoulders.
Warrick stuck it out when he certainly didn’t have to. I think Joseph is here next year, starts, puts up big numbers and gets a little dark-horse POY talk (if we are good). Then I say he is gone for the 2011 draft. I just don’t see him leaving this year though.
No Way
No matter how good you are, you are not gonna leave in a year you didn’t even start. He is an amazing player and he’d start for almost any other program but you gotta be able to start for your own program before you declare. Donte was told everywhere he went that he was a top 10 draft pick. I know it might not seem like it now but he was advised to leave by many people. Kris Joseph is not being advised to leave by anybody right now.

No chance
He goes. He won’t be a guaranteed 1st rounder which means he doesn’t get a guaranteed contract. Donte Green was told he would be a lottery pick. Obviously by someone that didn’t watch him play. Joseph is the Warrick camp. He COULD be a bottom of the 1st round pick, but why chance it?
Marvin Williams at UNC
He left after his freshman year where he was the sixth man. A very good sixth man with NBA measurables and starter type stats, but still not a starter. So it’s not out of the question, but Williams was highly touted and on NBA radars out of high school while Joseph was not.
i really doubt he leaves after this year
I understand your concern but look at the bigger picture. He is a sixth man – projected in the 2011 draft. His name hasn’t been dropped in the 2010 draft at all, and although he could definitely start, he doesn’t. Despite his recent tear, he still only is averaging 11.2 ppg. Jimmy B will tell him that if he stays, he could be a top 20 lock for the next years draft.
I think after next year, if the improvement continues, he’s definitely gone.
Joseph
Needs to work on his left hand, when he is on the left side of the court and beats his man to the middle, he finishes with his right if he can’t get all the way square to the basket. Ideally, he needs to add a left hand around the basket, and surely a pullup from 8-12 feet.
He is such a macthup nightmare though, routinely at the end of the game he has the ball at center court with the ball.
you guys are nuts
The projection is for NEXT year’s draft, as in, after Kris’s junior season. NO way he leaves after this season.
Next year he’ll be starting and will be one of the main focuses of opposing defenses with Andy, Wes, and Arinze all gone. Let’s wait and see how he handles that spotlight.

He could
improve dramatically, but I would have a hard time seeing him leaving after next year. Many holes in his game, many. I doubt he can patch them all up this offseason
