Okay, so while my opinion is that this game was still a should-win game in most of out minds even if UL was fielding their starting QB and star RB, I still think this game will be a dogfight tomorrow. Charlie Strong, if nothing else, is following Marrone's example by restoring UL football through hard work, discapline and his own resourcefullness. And unlike Marrone he has a full roster to work with.

On SU's side, they've been getting it done with defense. Rarely in the last 4 games has the offense driven 70-80+ yards to set up a score of any kind, they've been getting the majority of points off of field position created by defensive stops or turnovers. Kudos to the offense for converting those opportunities, and especially last week vesus Cincy, as most of those were converted into TDs. But lets face it, this is a medicore offense backed up by a stellar defense.

UL can still make this a game even with their back-up QB and RB starting. They have a solid O-line and Victor Anderson may not be Bilal Powell, but he's still a stud even if not 100%. So we need another great outing from the defense. Defensively, if UL should be able to manage more stops than they're used to verus our offense, and considering they held Pitt to just 20 points, there's no reason to believe they can't do the same to SU. Especially considering our O-line isn't 100%, there's lack of depth at RB, and Nassib hasn't had his best games as of late.

In the end, I think this will be an ugly game even though both teams are better than they've been in awhile. I think SU is determined to clinch a bowl game and win for the home crowd, so I'm gonna say the final score will be something like 17-10 SU.
