Fab needs to learn to control his body better. I think that most of the foul calls that he has been hit with over these first two games are bullsh*t, but he's a huge dude and these refs suck. Unfortunately, the refs will suck all season so he needs to get his arms under control and not bump guys - keep that separation, it will allow him to get more blocked shots too.
Keita did a great job playing under control today and surprisingly seems more polished than Fab, even though his body isn't as developed (which will suck come BE conference play). 15 rebounds today? Awesome.
Rick Jackson filled the stat sheets today, but two things have me worried. First, why can't he play with his back to the basket so far? Those lefty hooks aren't dropping. Second, why does he keep bringing the ball down low? He's a big dude - keep it up high! On the other hand, he has developed a previously nonexistent face-up game which is working nicely.
Is KrisJo more Josh Pace than Wes Johnson? This isn't a knock on him or Josh Pace at all - Pace was an unsung hero in his time at Syracuse. We'll see how this goes, but Joseph seems frustrated with his game so far. He started to light it up in the 2nd half against UNI, but he still wasn't slashing to the rim, which has me concerned.
A few final thoughts...
CJ Fair is a really smart player - always seems to be in the right spot at the right time. Triche is looking great - burying triples. Smooth shot, nice high release (ignore that one that he had swatted out of bounds today). Scoop looked a million times more comfortable out there today - glad to see him bounce back. Waiters is ready to play - his jump shot is ugly, but it works and with that high release it's not likely to get blocked.
