Well I've been railing on like a lunatic and on this site for months before football season began that this would be a turnaround season for our beloved Orange. But even with my super-perscription orange tinted glasses, never did I think that Syracuse would head down to M-town and pull out a victory yesterday. I just didn't see it happening and which way, so after yesterday's game I can honestly say I've never been more proud to be an SU Football fan. Sure, there are many games left to play, but our boys are on their way.
Now I need to call myself out on one other thing. Being the superfan that I am, I wake up early every Saturday morning during football season and don my classic, 90's era jersey like the one below:

On two occassions this year, I have lapsed on my tradition...and on both occasions our Syracuse defense have given up 40+ point en route to a blowout loss. I just happened to be travelling when we played @ UW, and during the Pitt game last week I had to for 12+ hours far and away from any source of TV, internet or other means of being able to check up on the game. All the whiIe #44 hung proudly in the closet of my orange clad man-cave. That being said, I find these excuses painfully unacceptable. I take full credit for the Syracuse performance vs. UW and Pitt. My bad guys.
But yet I say, FEAR NOT Orange fans! When I wear this jersey, magical things happen. Like we saw yesterday and vs. USF. Two teams we've not beaten in ages, or ever in the case of USF. I wore my jersey proudly all day yesterday from hours before gametime to well into the evening, as I sweated out the final minutes of the game, to mowing the lawn, washing the car and our two dogs and going out to dinner afterwards. I will not lapse again on my tradition. Nor shall this hallowed jersey ever have to venture through the bowels of the dreaded washing machine. This is my sacred oath to you my brothers (and sisters).
See you all at the BC game next month. And should I happen to meet any of you along the way and you happen to wonder what the heck that dreadful smell is, remember that's the smell of VICTORY! GO ORANGE!!!
