Keondrick Makes Syracuse His Pick

via media.scout.com

Who writes these awful headlines?  Oh...right...

Another day, another Florida recruit.  Syracuse has picked up a commitment from defensive back Keondrick Lyn of Miramar High in Florida.  Lyn is one of eight players on his roster expected to play college football...I don't think my high school has even sent eight guys to play college football all-time.

Lyn had previously verbally-committed to Northern Illinois but I suppose the pull of Syracuse, NY was too much for him.  He was also apparently considering USF, Maryland, Eastern Michigan and Miami (OH).  Rivals rates him a two-star player while Scout says just a one-star kind of guy.  Lyn can play DB or safety and recorded 117 tackles and four interceptions this past season.

Check out the video below of Keodrick at Miramar and their crazy uniforms. There's also an interview with Keondrick on January 22nd where he says there was no front-runner for college choice at the time...guess we did something in the past week to change his mind.

I wanna say this now

rather than a year from now when everyone is up in arms over florida kids leaving.

Not all of these Florida recruits will make it. Some of them will quit or transfer. They will realize how hard it is to deal with the weather. Some will miss their families and not enjoy being a plane ride away. Some kids will transfer over PT, expecting to come in and be a starter, then warm the bench.

Thats the nature of college sports. Some kids have it and some dont. You dont know until they get on campus. How many of Jimmy B’s guys dont work out?

So please, a year or two from now, dont accuse HCDM of running guys off. They are his guys. He recruited them.

Holy hell.

Is that some kind of satirical critique on how his fellow athletes leave grammar and punctuation at the door on social media?

I’m pretty sure that at no point have 8 members of our football team graduated and gone to college in the same year. Never mind any of them ever playing football in college.

One of the key contests in Syracuse's march to the national championship in 1959 was a titanic clash with unbeaten Penn State on Nov. 7, 1959 in University Park, PA. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 7 and the Orangemen No. 4.

The 20-18 victory propelled Syracuse to the No. 1 in both the AP and UPI polls which they held for the remainder of the season to claim the consensus National Championship. This is the Universal Newsreel account of that contest.
