Wesley Johnson
Is anybody else waiting for Wes to takeover a game? Its nice to have players on any given night put the team on his back, Andy has done this recently Triche did it the other day, but Wes has only done this for stretches at a time. I want Wes to take over a game! Drop 30 on some unsuspecting small forward, show the country why he is the BE POY. Wes needs to do this so when the time comes against the likes of GU or UCONN we know that he is and always has been our go to guy. Wes is spectacular, passive at times, but overall spectacular, I want to see him takeover a game though!

Honestly no....
If he can “struggle” without hurting the team and still getting wins then that’s the Wes I want right now. The more “ok” games he has the better chance there is of him staying and wearing Orange next year…. Even if that better chance is going from 10% to 12% chance of staying.
One more year Wes!

you're sounding mighty spoiled
Wes owes us NOTHING more than one season. He already sat out 1 year so he could play for us. Right now we’re legitimate favorites to win the BE regular season and possibly locking up our first 1 seed ever in the NCAA’s. Not even Carmelo gave us that. Even if that doesn’t happen, Wes is set to graduate in May (right?) and make buckets of money in the NBA next year. The fact that Wes can score nearly 20 a game without being a ballhog/showboat after sitting out an entire year is an amazing and as unselfish a story I can imagine. I wish him nothing but the utmost success this year and surely hope he winds up as a top 5 pick in June. He deserves it.

I think he hasn’t taken over a game because of the strong emphasis we’ve seen all year on teamwork. Wes, along with all the other players, understands the value of sharing the ball just as much as shooting it. This is a very well-balanced team, and it’s the reason why we get that little 5 next to our name.
Go, fight, and win.
I would agree.
Every game it seems like Wes isn’t getting involved, then suddenly they show his stats and he has 17 points and 9 rebounds. Plus his presence in the zone which is hard to calculate. He just gets it done somehow, every game.
We haven’t needed one person to take over a game all season and I don’t think we’re going to need to. Someone might have to step up here and there, put in a few extra points, but the last thing I want to see is one guy forcing himself in to the lane (see Devo during crunch time) or chucking up shot after shot. We’ve had that and it didn’t work.
Agree completely
The only game thus far we really could have used a 30 pt effort from Wes was vs. Pitt. In fairness to Wes, he pretty much had his regular all-around great game we are so used to, and it was pretty much everyone else who struggled on offense (Andy, Brandon and Rick especially). Not Wes’ fault.
Take a look at the top 5 scorers in the BE. Save for Scottie Reynolds, they all play for mediocre to bad BE teams. I’ll take consistency and balanced teamwork over star power any day.

Agree
with a lot of the sentiment here. Frankly I don’t care as much about someone scoring 30 points as much as I want to see a win. Granted, that’s not to say I don’t want Wes to get his points, but if he scores only 5 and we win by 15, then I’m still happy.
He’s a special player, but so are Rautins and Joseph.
Without Gerry McNamara we wouldn't have won 10 f-- games, not 10
I agree
We don’t need him to dominate a game right now. Nobody is bitching, and everyone seems to be content with their role (except maybe mookie but he isn’t even complaining that much anymore) If the time comes I don’t doubt that Wes will, but for now I like his “Where the hell did your stats come from?” mentality it just fits the teams over all feel. Although he has taken over a couple of 2nd halves this year.

Plus
he’s shooting 85% from the line in the last 5 minutes of a game, meaning we can get the ball into his hands late and not worry about him missing foul shots. Nice to have that with our best player.

This offense is designed
to let Wes relax at times. It’s The Wes Coast Offense. If you don’t believe me, ask Doug Marrone.
