Between January 18th and January 25th, you will be unable to find a Big Monday Big East match-up on ESPN that doesn't include the Syracuse Orange. Okay, I know that's only two Mondays, but...I'm working with what I've got here.
Syracuse will make back-to-back "Big Monday" appearances on ESPN during the 2009-10 men's basketball season.
The Orange will appear on Jan. 18 in a game at Notre Dame and will be back on the following Monday, Jan. 25, in a Carrier Dome matchup with Georgetown.
The big Monday line-up is basically a rotation that includes seven (out of the 497) Big East teams. Of the 18 possible appearances, SU, G'town, Nova, UConn, Pitt, Louisville & West Virginia inhabit 16 of them (only Notre Dame and Cincy squeak in as well). It even includes this fun switcheroo in three straight weeks:
Feb. 8 -- Villanova at West Virginia
Feb. 15 -- Connecticut at Villanova
Feb. 22 -- West Virginia at Connecticut
I didn't realize Big Monday was just a big round robin tournament spaced out over three months.
