I'm as excited for Melo as the next guy...

... but we'd be fooling ourselves if we didn't ask some key questions before the Melo era descends on Syracuse next fall.

Will Fab Melo's "mental game" hold up under the tests he's going to face.  Every high school coach says that their kid has "it" but does he have that hunger to truly get better?

And no one's saying it, but does a 65-year old Jimmy B have the fire in his belly to stay on this kid, grind on him and MAKE him improve like he did with Rony Seikaly 20+ years ago.

IF those questions get answered positively, then the sky's the limit for Cuse and Melo.

its funny...........

how people show so much blind faith in doug marone, all his forced departures though he is recruiting the same type of no name recruits that grob did, and he is even starting to sound like greggers at times

and all you want to do is question a hall of fame coach who does nothing but win, ive read posts cautioning about fab melo by using seans williams as a comparison……… first off sean williams wasnt even starting on his high school team in his senior and we all knew he was a project, fab is a top 5 recruit …………no comparison

we have more reason to be excited for melo than anything concerning the football team

I agree with you...

86 trash…

but I’m not one of those people predicting a bowl game for Syracuse football this year.

Don’t get me wrong, I think Jimmy B will have the team back in the Big Dance in 2010… but we’d be smart not to put the cart too far in front of Fab Melo’s horse before he’s played a single high school basketball game.

Those workout videos ARE impressive though.

From the work out video’s alone you should see this kid is a stud. A jump shot is a jump shot. You have it or you don’t. He moves much better from what I have seen and isnt goofy ala Craig Forth or Sean Williams. I think he is going to be a beast.

I don’t know who is crowning the football team national champs but I don’t know why 86 Trash is sipping so much haterade (still). You want to know why they had forced departures, read syracuse.com’s blog on their strength and conditioning program change. Anyone not serious about this program would drop out in a minute.

We will never steal 5 star guys from SEC schools, but from what I’m seeing he is nabbing people from all over the country. Which is somethin GRob never did. You gotta build a base before you go for the blue chippers. Lets get established in these areas first then start getting some big names.
