Ricky Rubio Staying In Spain For Two Years
The Minnesota Timberwolves' top draft pick, Ricky Rubio, 18, will remain in Spain to play for his DKV Joventut basketball team for the remaining two years of his contract rather than try to move to the NBA this season, El Periodico reported today.

Haha!
They should try trading him now. Get something now since it’s obvious he has no interest in playing in Minny.

I'll be honest,
I was sort of hoping this had an ending in which Jonny got to play somewhere else that might not be a dead end team. Or with better jerseys. Oh well on both.

The article was translated wrong...
The Minnesota papers translated the Spanish paper wrong… he’s not DEFINITIVELY staying in Spain for two years, he’s just talking to his advisors about it.. which is exactly what we thought he was doing since Draft night when he realized how cold Minneapolis is.
Pssst… Jonny loves the cold! Buffalo! Cuse! Minny ain’t got nothing on him!

Nitpickery...
… but Minneapolis is actually somewhat colder than Buffalo (or Syracuse); averages 5-10 degrees colder in the winter. Less snow, though.
