Cater-ing To Syracuse's Recruiting Needs

SU football picked up another NY State verbal today says Donnie Webb.  This time it's LB Malcolm Cater from Riverhead High School on Long Island.  John Anselmo is earning his paycheck.

Cater is projected as a Will or weakside outside linebacker at Syracuse, thought he played middle linebacker last season at Riverhead, which finished 12-0 and won the Long Island championship. It was the first time in Long Island history a team had finished 12-0.

"He's a very physical player that doesn't shy from contact," said Riverhead High School coach Leif Shay, who confirmed Cater's commitment to Syracuse. "He pursues the ball very well and he brings it when he gets there."

Appreciate it coach, but we can all stop with the "doesn't shy away from contact" thing.  It's kindof a prerequisite.  Everyone doesn't need to mention it.  He likes to play football.  Got it.

Cater is 6-1 and 235 pounds and also received offers from Rutgers and UConn according to Coach Shay.  Choke on it, Schiano and Edsell.

The SU Recruiting Map has been updated.

molte bene!

yeah, its very nice to see marrone hiring coaches that actually have connections to ny state football. and both kids from the island and brooklyn, seem like that they got the speed, quickness.. real important that we lock down quality kids in our own state, then get some quality kids from northwest ohio, eastern pa, jersey, , even ct and mass, and of course several kids from florida each year. nice to see we are taking steps to climb out of the nadir that grob and his cohorts left us in. and anybody that bad mouthes ny state talent is a joke.. lawn guy land is primo recruit grounds for: nebraska, wisconsin.. wvu.. rutgers.. penn state.. ND.. and al groh of UVA loves all the nyc metro and long island kids.. we all know of at least 2 great players that left syracuse area in past , the runner and reciever, to play at michigan..
