I don't think this is entirely fair
it may end up being so, but we really don’t know everything that has been said between the 3 players and Boeheim in the last few weeks. I’m sure more could have been done, and should have been done, but I don’t think we can discern that this whole thing was Boeheim’s fault just yet.

Agreed
It’s my understanding from people who work in Syracuse that Boeheim told Devendorf not to come back because he’s too much of a hassle, and if what Ryan Miller said is true about Paul Harris telling Boeheim about his intentions before the Oklahoma game, then you can’t blame Jimmy for that either.
The only thing I think you can question him on is how he dealt with the Jonny situation, and I bet even he’d tell you he’s shocked by his decision. If Boeheim hadn’t told him to test the waters, how do we know Leon Rose doesn’t get involved anyway? Millions of dollars is millions of dollars. Even John Calipari was on PTI on Wednesday and said he told Jodie Meeks and Patrick Patterson to test the draft process, see where they’re. Boeheim’s not the only guy doing it.
And oh, by the way, we’re still a good team next year. Let’s calm down. It’s in the past.
"If Boeheim hadn’t told him to test the waters, how do we know Leon Rose doesn’t get involved anyway?"
Nah, we heard about Lebron calling Jonny weeks ago. I think Jonny had this in his mind already, Boeheim telling him to “test” might’ve been the straw that broke the Orange’s back though.

Correction:
We might be a good team next year. We don’t know how good Wes will be in the BE, we don’t how Rautins will respond to a full-time starting role, we don’t know if Scoop can handle the PG duties, we don’t know the worth of Triche/Riley/Southerland and we don’t know if Mookie and Kris can step up. We know AO and Jackson will be dominant inside forces, everything else is up in the air. If it all gels we could be headed back to the Sweet 16, but it could just as easily go the other way and find us losing in the NIT semi-finals.
I look at it this way...
Jonny Flynn going to the NBA while it hurts for the 09-10 season is a nice business card to go get the next pg at SU. “Hey son, want to be the next guard going into the league from SU? Sign this LOI on the dotted line”.
On the other hand, to me Harris and Devo going pro isn’t going to help recruit for the Orange, because you know that anyone going up for playing against JB or Hopkins are going to use these young men jumping ship against SU.
And while I hope to be wrong, I think that the instant sting of the three players is worst for Flynn leaving, the long lasting one might be Devo/Harris leaving.

The way I try to look at it
After next season… 2011 will be the identical year we would have had anyways had, except probably better because our returning players will have logged more minutes
Formerly Mariners124M... Username was sorta bland, so I'm changin it up
i still wonder...
…in the back of my mind, if jonny’s decision was at all affected by the way he perceived Boeheim was treating Harris…do you think the rift between Paul and Boeheim at all influenced his decision?
Let's not forget about Wes!!
I’m so hyped up for Wes J. I really think he’s going to be such a difference maker and that he will be the clutch guy. Andy R. is going to have another killer year…..everyone relax. We’ll be fine.
