PrintPaul Harris says he didn't tell Syracuse to enter his name in the draft.
"I didn't know a thing about it," Harris said of the release. "I didn't do that. I don't have a clue who actually did it."
Although, he didn't return anyone's phone calls for three weeks, didn't set foot on campus for three weeks. He just left. He was a ghost.
He already quit once during the season. What were they supposed to think?

Waters basically dropped a bomb on us...
What the hell is going on up there? Maybe Flynn was pissed that Harris was basically being told to leave, so he decided to get out of dodge. Something isn’t right here. Although if Harris wasn’t attending classes and wasn’t answering calls, I’d probably assume he was planning on leaving school too.

I think I take Boeheim at his word: that Harris had previously said he’d be leaving and then dropped off the face of the earth. I don’t think Jimmy B is forcing anyone out, though Harris does seem to be a bit fragile mentally, so he might see it that way.

I wasn’t saying that he was forcing him out, just that it might be perceived that way by Jonny and, I guess, Paul. Boeheim probably had this whole vacation thing lined up and the AD decided to get something out before he left. Which, as we can see, might not have been the past course of action.
