I think they achieved what I expected, but I gave them a B+
Basically the team had risen past my pre-season expectations come tournament time, so I think Elite 8 was a reasonable place to finish. But at the same time I am completely happy with the season because of what this team did at the end of it (other than the OK game).
I voted B+
Mainly because I agreed with the statements for A-, B+ and B.
At the start of the year if you had told me this team was going to the Sweet Sixteen and losing to Oklahoma, I would have smiled, nodded and buckled up.
That said, I would have liked them to go farther (and mainly play better against Oklahoma), but I’m happy and I think they excelled with a few setbacks (notably Paul Harris related, Devo’s Legal Troubles and AO’s FT shooting)
Can’t wait for next year, setting December 18th as the O/U for first Devo is a scumbag story/news report.
I’ll predict the first Devo is a scumbag story is before December 18th…. he hasn’t made it that far the past two years… plus I’ll predict he fouls a guy taking a three in the first game of the season

DaJuan Summers is going pro from Georgetown…guess he got sick of losing in the NIT first round.

B-
And I say that because everyone’s expectations were lowered SO MUCH because of the last two years.
Look: Jimmy B. (and Mike H) can flat-out recruit. They always get great classes and every year the team should be solid. This year was no exception. So what really disappointed me was really the two swoons – one against the meat of their schedule (dropping the game @ Providence being the highlight) and the other one against Oklahoma. If the team plays both of those “swoons” a little better….I think this grade is a solid B or a B+
I just think that while the team played really well – they unfortunately left a little out there on the court (if that makes sense).
Just my opinion though – ultimately I’m really proud of these guys and I still think Boeheim is the biggest stud in the world (nh).
B is for Bstreaky
It’s tough to say with this team. When things were going good you could really imagine them beating anyone. When things were going bad you could see them getting blown out or barely getting by South Florida. Finished 6th in one of the best conferences I’ve ever seen, BET final, Sweet 16, 28 wins, a solid handful of which were over top caliber teams. That’s a good resume. Still, you feel like they could have been top 4 in the BE, beaten Nova at home, G’Town on the road and made it to the Elite 8.
A-
I guess I just was happy to have the Orange be nationally relevant again (worst sounding sentence ever?). The past two years have nearly killed me, so this year, with the Devo situation(s), Andy Routins health questions, and the 3-7 stretch… I give them an A-. Being one of the last 16 teams left is a great accomplishment. Maybe talent wise, on paper, they could have gotten at least one round deeper, but hopefully that’s where another year of experience and the additions of Wesley and Scoop and the like take them. Plus, I think it should be noted that around mid-season a lot of us had questions concerning how well this team wanted to play together as a team and how much heart and dedication they had to winning (at least I did). They answered those questions down the stretch by playing hard and improving greatly on their defensive intensity and heart.
