This One's For The Elite 800
Syracuse Orange at Oklahoma Sooners, Mar 27, 2009 7:27 PM EDT
The the Orange win tonight, it's win # 800 for Jim Boeheim and on to the Elite 8. Symmetry like that cannot be coincidence, folks. Leave your pre-, in- or post-game comments below. Catch you on the flip-flop.
G'Orange.

Let's go Orange!
Let’s kick some ass for Otto!

this team is playing nervous
shots are coming up short, not getting out on the break very well. they need to settle down.
Can't get worse?
It’s gotta go up from here, right? That’s about as bad a start as a team can have!!
we can't buy a bucket
thank god its 1st half. AO needs to finish layups my god
were still right in it
Still, I wish I was here

Alright nerves seem to be gone
Hopefully Andy finds his shooting stroke now
Good stuff L'ville
Still on track for 4 Big East teams in the Final 4
my cbs just keeps showing syracuse make bad decisions
Still, I wish I was here

Well if Andy is never going to hit a 3
we don’t have a shot
erase the 3 pt line, quick
Still, I wish I was here

can't hit a 3 tonight
and despite that, we’re down only 7 (hopefully 6 after flynn’s FT). if we can start hitting from outside, we’ll be fine.
dead
Energy-level is so low… what are our guys waiting for? A reason to get excited?
just keep it under 10. we'll be ok
were a 2nd half team

2 reason why we're down
1. Can’t shoot
2. These refs suck
flynn injury
assuming he’s not hurt too bad, could give team a shot in the arm
Considering he could barely run
I wouldn’t assume he’s fine
we need any shot we can get

against UConn in the 6OT game
we turned to the press at a key moment… I’d like to see us press right off the bat.
andy hit 3's against uconn
like to see that also

just showed the '96 highlights vs. Georgia
Wow, I will never get tired of watching Ciploa knock down that jumper and then the John Wallace show. What an incredible game that was!
the ref on the baseline by SU's bench
must’ve been paid handsomely. he’s must’ve had 8 out of bounds calls that were clearly last touched by OU, yet he called it out on us every time
Hate to say it
but this game is over. Fucking pathetic perfromance
so ridiculous
the guy goes 2-15 in his previous two games…..now all of a sudden he can’t miss?
Unbelievable
wouldn't matter if we'd played halfway decently so far
love our guys, but this has been a bad performance

Good job Devo
Way to go up strong on your layups today
The Only Upside
IF they lose (and obviously it looks like that’s going to happen) – is that none of the guys (Devo, Johnny Flynn etc.) DO NOT want to go out like this. Getting slowed and beat up – and getting pounded. So if the current action holds – I say everyone comes back 100% next season.
Too soon to think that?
would be nice to have a silver lining
Isn’t Flynn the only threat to leave early?
I'm not thinking anything positive right now
Just the worst performance I’ve seen from them this year. That and the 1st Georgetown game
Who the fuck will I cheer for next round
OK or unc? Both are pieces of shit in my mind
Like rebounding AO
Way to make an effort there
is it wrong that i'd rather switch it to dollhouse than watch the rest of this?
i’m not going to, but i’d like to
i like flynn's grit
but boeheim really should take him out. we can’t play good defense when 1 of the 5 guys can’t move
If we don't comeback at all within the next 5 mins
He should come out.
it really pisses me off
when blake griffin isn’t the reason you are down by 20….to be honest, we all knew he was going to get his 25 and 15 but give me a break crocker…..new career high….

anyone notice how loose these rims are? the NCAA is using different baskets than normally exist in the arenas. it seems like you have to swoosh the ball to have it go on. anyone else see that?
Exactly
Something is wrong with these rims. Just the noise alone is a dead clang giveaway

glad
that someone else noticed this. i don’t know why the NCAA pulls this kind of crap. the backboards, combined with court sin the center of a football arena (the camera angle for the Zona ’Ville game was horrendous).
does anyone else.....
wonder what would have happened in this game is jonny decided to not try and block the 6’ 10" blake griffin and break his back? 13 at half is bad,, but they are shooting like 60% in the second half, so I am sitting here asking myself why

Anyone read the article about the football team today?
Marrone said they didn’t know how to tackle. I think they Maronne should call Rautins up to teach them how to tackle.
Why the hell does Kris Joseph shoot when he's in with the walkons?
Let guys like Presutti and Reese get their shots. No one wants to see you shoot you’ve had your chance already
Definitely Zags
But I’m cheering for Kansas. Hate the Big 10
i just like the idea of
the big east having twice as many elite 8 teams as anyone else. otherwise i probably wouldn’t care either way
Ugh
Well that fucking sucked.

As a ‘Cuse native and fan, I’d agree that when healthy we’ve had a good time facing great big men. But, we have not seen anything like Blake Griffin yet. This game is the most intriguing/exciting head-to-head match-up in the tournament so far. Crocker is going to be the key for OU and Jackson the key for SU…

Worst refs ever
The refs in this UVA lax game have been doing everything in their power to give UVA the win. What a con job.
