"You've got to at some point hold Jim Boeheim accountable. I believe you coach effort and this team was not coached up. They were not ready to play." - Gottlieb
As noted, this is the first time a Jim Boeheim coached team has given up 100 points twice in one season - AXE
Personally I dont blame Jim, you shouldnt have to tell your players this is a big game. Its the BE, every game is big. And zone usually does work against good post players, but the players have to get back:

Hard to believe...
…but DB Gottlieb has a point this time. The team is playing without intensity, is not being held accountable for its lack of effort, and has not cut-back on its ridiculous turnovers despite being guilty of them for the enntire season.
Granted, this is the “gauntlet” and some losses were to be expected. That said, they are sitting at 2-5 with games against G’Town, UConn and Nova still left. This team is far too talented to go 3-7 in any 10 game stretch (an all-too-real possiblity right now), so one has to step back and critically examine what is really going on…
Jimmy B. needs to make something happen. Bench Devo when he throws a turnover across the court in a 5-on-5 set. Bench Flynn when he mouths off and picks up a technical foul. Use Kristof!, Joseph and whoever else necessary to give your starters a break once in a while (instead of leaving them out there non-stop so they elect to use defensive plays to take a break and get their legs under them). Make everyone practice between losses. Show us that you still care as much as we know you certinaly did at one time….

i am a huge jimmy b apologist.............
but w/10 sec to go before halftime and seeing paul harris bring the ball up, and argue with flynn while no one including flynn seems to be trying to get open………….seeing that as a coach you have to call time out and set up a play that sequence was huge going into halftime, and he blew more than the players and that point, also when your whole is walking back on defense and gets beat to the bucket, need a to and five new players on the court, i care if all five subs are walkons it is time to send a message……..
i also firmly believe this team misses louis orr since he left us for the hall, it seems our big guys have vastly underperformed…..from watkins and roberts straight to onuaku, i understand he is dealing with some pain…….but………..the big guy needs to get tougher
Louis Orr left in 2000. How does this team miss him? Bernie Fine is and has been the big guy coach anyhow. What about guys like Brown, Warrick and Nichols, forwards who vastly improved after he left? And it’s hard to blame a coach who hasn’t been here in 9 years for big guys who can’t make layups.

I do. If your players and playing listless, uninspired basketball and you do nothing about it as a coach, you have to be accountable. These guys have not hustled, played D, rebounded or played smart basketball in years. That’s coaching.

There seems to be a distinct lack of discipline on this team.
From Devo to all the various incidents over this season and the last, combined with a lack of hustle. I don’t know. I don’t want to blame Jimmy B and sound like I’m kicking him while he’s down. But who else do you look to for those problems? He brought in these kids. He’s coached them.
