UCONN Students Are DUMB.

A facebook event is going around amongst UConn students.  The desire is to have a sudden spontaneous rave in the library during finals week.

UCONN FLASHMOB RAVE

Please read this real quick. Im planning a rave in the library just like the ones at UNC and the one that just happened at James Madison University. My friends at both those colleges said it was so much fun. They got thousands of students from the university to flashmob rave at the library. Just watch the attached videos to see what I mean. Its nuts!

Inivite all your friends at UConn and we can do it... all we need is someone to dj the event. Its a good way to get your name out there as a dj. Anyway just please watch the videos.

WE CAN DO THIS

Now Im not even going to get into dances at UConn and Jasper Howard (still too soon) but this is rediculiously dumb.

Its planned for finals week... so if the cops dont get you, all the pissed off kids trying to study will.  One students warns of the "$103 ticket for 'creating a public disturbance' " he got in the library.  Now the authorities have a list of who to write tickets for.

372 students are listed as 'attending'. Another 300 in the maybes and 3,500 are listed as awaiting reply.

This is an open group, meaning anyone can see it or list themselves as attending. Thats how I came across it. It also means that the cop sitting at his desk looking at 19 year old sorority girls facebook photos can see it.

At UConn they are not like our DPS where you can just walk away and they guy really cant do anything but call the real cops. These are State Troopers.  (one of the many reasons public schools suck)

Had the UConn students been creative enough to think of this themselves, they might be able to pull it off.  No one would be expecting it.  But UConn students are posers.  This has already been done and they want to rip off another school.  One way ticket to Lametown. Be creative!

Now if I know one thing, its that Connecticut kids are as lame as they get.  They love to talk about how "sick" this would be and hype it up, how there is nothing to do in CT, and then when the event rolls around - they dont show.

I must be an old fuddy duddy

Because I can’t understand why on earth any thinking human being would think this is “fun”.

/get off my lawn, etc.

You are an old fuddy duddy

There’s certain ones that sound fun, like getting 100 people to put on a blue polo shirt and walk around Best Buy.

That kind of thing, sure

But setting up a “rave” in the library? In the middle of finals season? That’s the kind of thing I don’t understand.

I prefer to flash mob

only on the Syracuse basketball court

Is this actually during finals week?

Or after finals are done? Because if I’m not mistaken both the one at Miss St and the one at UNC happened after tests were over. Which is an entirely different proposition.

The one being planned here at SU is planned for next Thursday, smack dab in the middle of finals week.

And the pathetic thing is, my facebook says 11 of my friends are attending. Are you fucking kidding me? At least that means it will be quiet in my dorm to study for my non-cumulative, fun to study (no, seriously it is) COM 107 final, which I have to stay an extra weekend for

On top of that

I have 33 friends from the Syracuse network. So yeah, 11/33. Wow.

I must say though, as a former Architecture student I would have loved this.

Finals week for architecture students is rarely the stress-fest it is for the rest of SU. We finished stressing with final reviews which usually happen just before finals, so a rave smack dab in the middle of finals would have been great. We always hosted our as it was though.

after you’ve got up on not sleeping for 3 days, right?

by stumpycuse on Dec 9, 2009 9:25 AM EST up reply actions

Yep.

Unless the rave was the night following the 3 consecutive days…what’s one more right?

by NOLACuse on Dec 14, 2009 3:45 PM EST up reply actions

Stupid

Does that mean UNC students are dumb, too? Yeah considering a lot of them turn down Ivy League schools that’s a fair assumption.

And there’s nothing to do in Connecticut? Well, UConn’s less than an hour from Boston, and souther Connecticut is far from New York.

For the record, I’ve grown up a Syracuse fan and I root against UConn. But seriously, lots of college students at lots of university do retarded things and that’s no reason to rip on people from Connecticut.

by tanman5 on Dec 10, 2009 3:28 PM EST reply actions

I meant close to New York

Southern Connecticut is close to New York City

by tanman5 on Dec 10, 2009 3:29 PM EST up reply actions

Exactly.

They go to UConn, that’s enough of a reason to rip on them right there.
