The Herb Goldfarb Syracuse Sports Kibitz

A reader, Michael Goldfarb, came to me not too long ago and let me know that his grandfather, Herbert, was an outspoken, long-time Syracuse fan with a very unique view on the school and the sports program.  I said if he can whip up some thoughts onto a recorder than I would be happy to share them with everyone as a way to bridge the gap between us youngens and the older generation of Syracuse fans.

Herb did just that and here it is, the first of what may be many episodes of Herb's Syracuse Sports Kibitz.  I added some images to help tell the story and I hope you enjoy Herb's...interesting...view of the world and Syracuse athletics.

Happy Hanukkah to you too, Herb.

Got going nicely towards the end… ‘you wouldn’t let your daughter marry any of these people’

Stand back from the mike, though, whoever you are.

With Apologies To Randy Edsall, The Big East Remains Mostly Harmless

FILE -- This is an Oct. 18, 2008 file photo showing Connecticut corner back Jasper Howard (6) trying to get the crowd into the game during the fourth quarter of an NCAA college football game against Rutgers, in Piscataway, N.J. Jasper Howard had his little sisters' names tatooed on his chest. His friends say it was a constant reminder of why he was at U Conn _ to provide his family with a better life than the one he had in Miami's Little Haiti. (AP Photo/Mel Evans, File) link
