According to TFY Draft, "sources have told us running back Delone Carter will go through the advisory committee with the hopes of receiving an opinion on his draft ranking, then make a decision where his future lies. " Carter has one year of eligibility remaining.

Late round or undrafted FA

The lack of speed and injury concerns shouldn’t make him a highly sought after prospect…

I mean what does it hurt? He goes in, they tell him to work on x,y, and z and that he will not get drafted. He then comes back to SU for his SR yr with more resolve and puts up a good year

NFL is different from NBA. Those were agents, NBA outsiders, etc. In the NFL this is a committee made up of NLF insiders who know what they are talking about.

Here is one sources that talks about it from a few yrs ago:

He won't be back

He has nothing to gain by coming back for another year.

Disagree

If he puts up another 1000+ yard season and make it through another year without injury he will have a much better chance at making it to the NFL.

how about a free education?

delone carter has been one of the few good things about this program the last few years, but he doesn’t have an NFL career in his future. at best he signs a free agent deal and toils away as a back-up or practice squad guy for a few years. if he wants to do anything with his life, he needs a degree. and if he actually graduated this year, he should get his masters which will also be FREE if he stays

He needs to run the whole season like he did the last four-five games

then he has a shot at the draft.

Homer: Aw, twenty dollars! I wanted a peanut!
Homer's Brain: Twenty dollars can buy many peanuts!
Homer: Explain how!
Homer's Brain: Money can be exchanged for goods and services!
Homer: Woo-hoo!
