The Heisman Trophy is pretty much a wonderful thing, but the body of deciders includes too many who are swayed by the packaging and even by the pre-packaging . . . who bow to the hype machines . . . who never seem to consider that the "most outstanding college football player" in all the land might play for a mediocre club whose overall talent load won’t allow that athlete to fully flower.

Anyway, for the record, my 1-2-3 official ballot read like this: Tebow-Ingram-McCoy."

Bud Poliquin, proving his own point.

Ha

Well, that is completely ridiculous.

Kind of

I mean, at least Bud mans up and admits that he has no idea who to vote for! The whole column is a giant mea culpa about his (and his peers’) ignorance.

That being said…I had no idea that Bud Poliquin had a Heisman vote. Bully for him!

After reading that I would expect

him to vote for Toby Gerhart or something. Reading the whole article it seems like a big excuse. “I have no idea what these guys did this year, so Im picking the only guys Ive heard of.”

TOBY GERHART for Heisman.

I also would not be disappointed if Ingram gets it. I hate Tebow, and McCoy? Ehhh… schmehhhhhh.

Let’s get away from the “every year it HAS to be a QB who wins the Heisman.” Remember when Woodson won it from Mich?

Tebow being on the ballot is a joke

Gerhart-Ingram-Suh in that order. People who vote for Tebow are the same people who thought Jeter should have won AL MVP this year.

Wow

I didnt even notice that.

Neither did Bud, apparently.

not that anyone was asking

but I’d vote for CJ Spiller (too many fumbles, I know) – Tebow can’t win a game if he’s down by more than 10 points

Didn’t mean to post yet..

anyways, I’d go 1. Suh 2. Gerhart 3. Spiller. Suh may have put on the best performance from a defensive player in a big game I’ve ever seen before in the Big XII title game, and is one of the best d-linemen in college football in decades. Gerhart is excellent and almost put him #1. Watch a lot of ACC football, and Spiller’s just that kind of player that can score a TD at any point.

Tebow wouldn’t even be in my top 6 if the voting went that far.

I wouldn't put it past Bud to be lying.

Like maybe the whole vote order thing is tongue in cheek. Meant to prove his point.
He already knows everyone thinks hes clueless (which he usually admits himself he is).
He’ll never convince anyone otherwise, so maybe he’s playing along.

I mean, are we really to believe that he has a vote?

Most of all, I really really really want to believe that no one, even writers in Gainsville, would vote Tebow number 1

The 'Cuse is in tha house, oh my God oh my God.

I thought Bud would go...

Masterleo, Paulus, Tebow.

Oh wait… that would be for His-man-crush voting.

The most disconcerting thing about this ordeal...

Why in God’s name does Bud Poliquin have a Heisman vote?

Its not just the sportswriters making uninformed votes

Do you think that Ron Dayne watched much stanford football this year?

Also with Heisman votes...

From the Post Standard:

Bob Snyder
Donnie Webb

Interesting. Full list.
