For the last 22 years
I think a lot of Cuse fans have hated him. But hearts and minds are a-changin.

He's just himself
he’s not trying to be a character (Vitale, Raftery). Refreshing.

At least
The NCAA video game has an option of using a CBS crew. Too bad CBS basically has a west coast bias.

I don't think he blows
But he does have a schtick much like Vitale does. It’s just that Raf’s schtick is nowhere near as annoying as Vitale’s.

Honest Question
If Knight wasn’t blowing verbal kisses to SU for the last 24 hours would people think he’s so good? He sucks the life out of a game with a monotone delivery. He’s the anti-gus johnson

I HATE Raftery
I find him almost as annoying as Vitale. “In the man-ta-man” “with the kiss” – his shtick is horrible. I hate listening to his voice. I wish that they would both retire.
This is mean, but remember when Vitale missed some action last year because he had voice box surgery or something? That wasn’t so bad…
by DMF on Nov 20, 2009 7:30 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I like Raf
but I can understand if someone else thinks he’s a lot like Vitale in that they’re caricatures of themselves in terms of announcing style.

It's possible.
It depends on HOW we win. If we win with a certain amount of flair we should be.

Personally
I just think it’s too much movement for a team that’s ranked 24th right now. I could see them be 12th or 13th, but not to jump 15 other teams.

Allagash = Portland, ME
Great Divide = Denver, CO
by TheRenegadePumpkin on Nov 20, 2009 8:29 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
interesting
The Wegmans in the Rochester area have all started up “beers of the world” sections, but I don’t recall seeing either of those there. I take it the Fresh Hop is an IPA. What style is the Confluence?
by MrPlow99 on Nov 20, 2009 8:34 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Fresh Hop is actually a regular Pale Ale, whereas similar style “wet hop” ales (Harpoon 100 Barrel Glacier Harvest, Sierra Nevada Harvest Estate) are IPA’s. Confluence is a straight up ALE. Citrusy, light-medium body, thick cream.
Just racked the Southern Tier (Lakewood, NY) Mokah… a chocolately coffee Imperial Stout. Think of a chilled cafe mocha from Starbucks, only with 72x more flavor. Ridic. Bitches cream themselves over it. 11.0 ABV% is not bad for a stout, either.
by TheRenegadePumpkin on Nov 20, 2009 8:48 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
I love the Southern Tier IPA
it’s one of my favorite IPAs. I also like their Porter. So I’d think they’d do a good job with their imperial stout, too. But I can’t do coffee stouts (got sick off kahlua & cream too often as a youngster & it’s ruined me for anything coffee+alcohol).
by MrPlow99 on Nov 20, 2009 8:55 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Great points +2
I much prefer their Hoppe and the other one (forget it’s name right now), and the combination of the two that make the Gemini, needed a change of flavor.

AO is the all-time SU Field Goal Leader with ~65% FG%. Yet, we will all remember him for his woeful, historic FT shooting.

yeah, i've already resigned myself
to the fact that wes is gone after this year. Like I said, enjoy him while you can this year, the dude’s a stud.

This is just wonderful, my favorite college BB team taking out my least favorite team. Syracuse vs Duke in the Championship game would be heaven for meh.

Opposite for me
Married to a girl from NC. All of her family’s UNC fans. Don’t root for them, but I’m happy to see them win (so long as it doesn’t hurt Syracuse). Hate Duke. Hate hate hate. I’m not sure that I would’ve been allowed by her parents to marry her if I had been a Duke fan.

Was born and raised in SU, now living in Raleigh-Durham, Only dark blue and Orange for me. Can’t stand those light blue Tar Heels!

I say we’ll be 12 (not what we should be, but what we will be on Monday)

thinking 12th. I just can’t see them jumping a ton

it’s cool that they gave him the player of the game over johnson.
7 assists and 7 steals (and 7 rebounds, for a guard). how awesome is that?

This even feels better
Than Kansas last year. We squeaked by them. We just dominated. DOMINATED. UNC. And Cal. And we probably would’ve dominated Ohio State if we’d played them.

That i’m like 75% sure I sat next to Kris Joseph at the movies last friday. I willingly gave up my right arm rest to make him more comfortable. In some small way I contributed to this victory. You’re welcome everyone.

and I must say
that I got the poll question right, the one that asked if we’d win both games of this tourney, or just 1, or none.
now i can only hope that i didn’t get the football poll question right (i said we’d lose by more than 20)

You know what's interesting?
Even though the Big East is undefeated so far, the other Big East teams (Nova, Gtown, UConn in particular) are struggling to beat second tier mid-majors. We’re walking all over the big shots.
by adselver15 on Nov 20, 2009 9:34 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
good point
still, a win is a win. and the big east hasn’t lost a game yet. how sweet is that?
by MrPlow99 on Nov 20, 2009 9:36 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
You can give me credit for this win, btw
When UNC went on the late 1st half run to go up 37-35, I decided to change things up by watching something else on the TV and watching the game on ESPN360. Then the huge run started.
You’re welcome everyone!

Is UNC a football school now?
Because usually if only four people care about basketball at Carolina that’s what it would look like……

Big question:
Better team, this year with Flynn, or last year with Wes?
My vote, last year with Wes, better backcourt is usually the better tourney team.
Go Orange(men)!
by SUmonkey on Nov 20, 2009 9:50 PM EST reply actions 0 recs
I would go this year with Flynn.
The reason? Defense. All these long arms and big bodies are making this zone work. Add a player like Flynn to that and damn. I’ll take the combo of Triche and Jardine to replace Devo and it’s pretty clear Wes is replacing Harris just fine.
by NOLACuse on Nov 20, 2009 9:55 PM EST up reply actions 0 recs
Wes = Warrick
Harris couldn’t shine Wes’ shoes.
Yeah, the D is really improved, but I will argue that with Wes, last year’s team would of had a much better D than they did.
Go Orange(men)!

someone i work with has really good season tickets, so i’m getting his seats for those games. $27 for non-conf tickets, and $49 for big east games.

What a great ending to my birthday… Top 10 team right now but we’ll have to see how they do in late jan when they usually struggle and lose 3 out of 5… But I’m proud of my orange… GO SU!!!!
