Is this THE Troy Nunes?

Is this the real Troy Nunes?

Nunes_fb_medium

I did a search for people named Troy Nunes that listed themselves as going to Syracuse. This result came up. All I can view is his thumbnail photo and that he currently lives in Pittsburgh.

I do know that Troy Nunes is originally from Butler, PA, which is about an hour north of Pittsburgh. But I don't actually know what Mr. Nunes looks like when not in a Syracuse uniform (and helmet) so I have no idea if this is him.

I'm not asking anyone to message him (we should probably leave him alone, or if someone does contact him it should probably be Sean). But just curious if we can verify if this is him or not.

But how great would it be...

if he DID say “You’re the a**hole that’s ruined my good name!”.

Offer him a guest reviewer spot for every game next season. "Nunes on Nunes’

Anyways, based on picture, life seems to be pretty good for him.

he was ... MAGIC!

he was like incredible, set new standards of ineptitude. he even made rj anderson look like a super star! he started the whole ball rollng for the next decade as as far as su qbs with absolutley no talent of any kind-not to be cruel… my favorite, was when he in 2 games in a row,, he threw 4 interceptions in each game. and also one game where he scrambled backwords like 31 years and almost ran in for a safety! stuff like that was pretty exciting adn incredible to watch, if u were the coach of the opposing team!

TROY- THE MAN, THE LEGEND!!!!

while at su, he was know n, as the trite cliche goes, the hackeyed slogan, as a MAN FOR ALL SEASONS.. a renaissance man.. typical of a new generation of guys called metro males".. indisputabley something straight out of gentlemans quarterly. one who knew well how to baffle and outrage a college football coach. not the opposing coach, mind u, but coach pasqualbongna.. the one who single handedly turned poor coach p’s hair white while still in his 50’s.. this.. then.. onw fo the crowing achievements, for some one who CONTINUES TO BE A OVERPOWERING! AND POPULAR ROLE MODEL TO ALL OF US! ALL HAIL TROY!

Remember him for the good times!

Like when he ran in a QB sneak for a TD and got a concussion which I think was the last time he played!

by actioncuse on Jan 26, 2009 8:39 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, that's definitely him

And in hindsight, he wasn’t that bad. Of course, that could be the last few years of watching SU quarterbacks talking, but I remember him having his share of ups to go with the downs during his time on the Hill. But one thing is for sure – he is AN ABSOLUTE MAGICIAN.

nunes

did run 31 yards in reverse, and didn’t go in for the safety, but his intentional grounding in the endzone sure was a safety.. it was v. michigan and pretty much cost us the game those 2 pts (as we lost by 4 and could have easily kicked a game winning fg instead of trying to force the ball into the endzone to woodcock) ya. woodcock.

i did..

still awaiting a response.. i dont know if he’ll remember me. i was at a su football game in 2002 that was SO QUIET i could hear troy nunes clapping on the field (for really no reason). late 4th quarter, most fans had left, and i remember turning to my friend and saying “if i can hear troy nunes clapping on the field i’m sure he can hear me yelling” at which point i probably told him to go fuck himself back to butler, penn.

troy nues:SENATOR NUNES- NY STATE?

I pesonally thing its all there.. the drive, motivation.. charisma.. iq level which he showed many times on the foorball field for troy to assume the mantle of senator to congress. which is vacant right now. all he has to do is come back to upstate ny and meet and greet a few dariy and grape farmers here in upstate ny. and promise that like ah..utica will become the next high tech capitol of the world. what he did for su as a qb, he can do for ny state around the beltine ! we do have a precedent here.. long live JACK" kemp!! mr swarmy with brylcream moussed hair..

One of the key contests in Syracuse's march to the national championship in 1959 was a titanic clash with unbeaten Penn State on Nov. 7, 1959 in University Park, PA. The Nittany Lions were ranked No. 7 and the Orangemen No. 4.

The 20-18 victory propelled Syracuse to the No. 1 in both the AP and UPI polls which they held for the remainder of the season to claim the consensus National Championship. This is the Universal Newsreel account of that contest.
