I'm sitting in a cubicle in downtown DC, waiting patiently for the next two hours to go by so I can go to the Orange party at Clyde's. To kill the time, I was just reading a Washington Post preview of the game and came across this quote:
Picked to finish eighth in the 16-team Big East (just behind Georgetown), Syracuse (16-1, 4-0) now sits atop the conference standings and is ranked eighth nationally. In Thompson's view, the Orange is even better: "one 60-foot basket away" from being No. 1 in the country...
I had never thought of that before. The more I think about it, as much as I hate to say it, JTIII might be right. We've played a more impressive non-conference schedule than the Panthers. Would our wins over Florida, Kansas, and Memphis have been enough to place us above Pitt's preseason hype?
I think so. Damn you, Cleveland State!
