Pre-game and Post game locations
Pre-game there is really only one place to be. Clydes will be packed wall to wall with Syracuse people. Thats a good place to go after the game, or you guys can head down to our official game watching bar, sign of the whale which is right off the Red Line (farragut north) and there was talk about going there if the Cuse won. If you really want to have some fun, you can stop by are old bar from last year (Rhino) and say hi to the Gtown students hanging out there.

I’ll be at Clyde’s for the pregame festivities. Post-game I intend to celebrate at Fado at 7th and H.
I will second CapitalOrange’s plug for Sign of the Whale as our official bar in D.C. for gamewatching/getting drunk.

Sign of the Whale
How is that scene? Lots of people? I am not alumni, I grew up in Syracuse. I was thinking of heading into town for some of the weekend games, like Louisville or Notre Dame.

I'll be at Clyde's
Look for the dude in the orange tie/Devo jersey. I’ve got a job interview beforehand and won’t be able to change.
Go, fight, and win.

Clydes
Oh, and I will be there, either in a Syracuse T shirt, or in a Sherman Douglas Throwback.

brickskeller bar"
its a way cool place, very english pub, sorta looks like a big english house, its on dupont circle. we use to flit back and forth from the b rickskeller to this topless bar right down on the corner. all the gays were totally freaked by gasp.. men going to see topless females in their gentrified area, so they in a total frenzy to get it closed down. the brickskeller is real laid back. got darts , 2 floors, buffalo hamburgers made out of real buffalo.. and over 500 kinds of botled biere;..it s right off the metro line in dupont circle. and the new orleans house- its right across the street from rosslyn metro, right across the river from george town, in arlington, has got the most amazing salad bar u will ever see.. and u dont need to get that big prime rib, get the small one cause the salad bar is like 25 feet long and like 2 feet high, lots of fresh fruit, cheeze,,et cal. the rosslyn metro escaliater is the biggest one i have ever seen anyplace in the world, that includes budapest, praha, montreal, paris, or berlin.. and lots of way good sports bars and places to eat in alexander, on king street after u leave king street metro. and u get to other side of the area, its total yupster heaven, doing down towards the river.. beaucoup real good mangia and bars.. shops.. and the metro in dc area stays open til 2 am on weekends, think its 12 weekdays..

Cuse Game Watching
Doesn’t really apply for Wed. since it’s not that close to Verizon but FYI to all who live in the DC area there is a bar in Adams Morgan, Ventnor Sports Cafe that is owned by a Cuse alum who has been very accommodating to us. We have been going there for all of the weekend games this year, if you haven’t gone you should check it out. Last week we had a good 20-30 cuse fans there. After the game I would suggest Fado – A real nice Irish bar right across from Verizon and last year was packed until past 2am with cuse fans despite the fact that we got hosed by the refs in OT. Here’s to a better outcome this year

Get to Clyde's reeeeaaaal early
It fills up fast. Also, the past few years, the DC alumni club/Greenberg House has hosted a pre-game party on the second floor of Clyde’s in the back private room—go up the main stairs, past the bar on your left and the bathrooms, and the entrance is on your right (if they are doing it again). Get there early if you want to have even the tiniest bit of oxygen to breathe, let alone get a frosty beverage.
If Clyde’s is too packed, or you want something different for before and after, try Rocket Bar across the street from Clyde’s—it’s underground, so look for the small door & sign, and they usually have a chalkboard out front. Great beers, tons of TVs, skeeball…what more could you want??

I call bullshit. The bar is only maybe 10 feet wide and couldn’t even fit 20 people. Bullshit.

Ventnor
I am a HUGE fan of sign an its much more accessible than Adams Morgan, which is impossible to get to for anything but a noon weekend game. If it were in a different location, I would check it out for a change of pace if for no other reason than its an alumni owned bar. Sign has been really good this year. We have had around 15-20 people for most of the games. I can’t wait for us to have our gamewatching open bar parties there, thats going to be a fun event. They even put up a sign in their display case, so whenever anyone goes in there now, you know its a Syracuse bar.
I’ll be there for the next game.
