The College Coaching Search Is A Visual Delight
That's courtesy of Matt Hinton a.k.a. Dr. Saturday. Poor Chip Kelly, once they stamp you with the swoosh, it never comes off. Just ask Ernie Davis.
While we're back on the topic, Skip Holtz has finally thrown his first "denial that's not really a denial at all" in regards to his interest in the Syracuse job. When asked if the talk was a distraction, he said...
"Its not. I'm focused on what we've got to get done here...I keep talking about all year keeping our hands on the wheel and our eyes on the road. There's going to be speculation and people are going to throw things around. Obivously I'm here and we're trying to do what we have to do to win a conference championship, which is the first since 1976."
In other words, after I win Saturday, I'm going to write the salary I want down on a piece of paper and slide it across the table to you, DOCTOR Gross. Then...you either say yes or say no.
When asked if he or his agent have spoken to SU, Holtz replied that he doesn't have an agent....but didn't say anything about whether or not he's spoken directly with SU. Hmmm...
And so the wheels on the bus continue to turn...

From what I hear down South...
Skip Holtz is really, really looking to stay one more year because he could be the front runner for the Notre Dame job.

Skip Won't Come
As an East Carolina Alumni and Syracuse Resident and fan…I don’t think Skip Holtz would take this job. He is lining up for bigger and better things than taking over a defunct football program……(Sorry Orange, but we are not bigger and better)
I agree with AEM, he has sights on an SEC team or to follow in Dads footsteps at Notre Dame.
