Apropos Of Nothing, The Top Three Songs On The New(Ish) Ben Folds Album
1. Brainwascht - Does for revenge pop songs what Norm MacDonald did to roasts. There's no point to ever doing either of things anymore now. It's over.
2. Kylie in Connecticut - Heartbreaking and insightful...one of many songs that showcase Ben's storytelling prowess. It's also the only time in your life you'll connect with someone who lives in Connecticut. Sorry Brian.
3. Effington - "If there's a God...he is laughing at us...and our football team." Ladies and gentlemen, the official song of the 2008 Syracuse Orange football team.

We're you already half in the tank when you posted this?
I like Ben Folds too, but seriously, this is the MOST non-sequitor post. EVER.
Awesome.
For what it’s worth, my favorite post title is
“Half-backery”
I still giggle a tad every time I think of it.

And "Half-backery" reminds me of something else.
Do you remember that SNL skit when, I think the Chris Matthews imitator was trying to get someone to say “Jacko on his back-o.” It’s ridiculous, but still makes me laugh.

Got the album recently
and I’m knee deep in it. Had to post it. My wife saw it and asked “can you do that?” and I said “my blog.” I felt like a dictator. It felt good.

Love this album -- got the super deluxe package when it dropped
Top three for me:
1. Effington
2. Dr. Yang (the fuzz guitar on this song is amazing)
3. Kylie from Connecticut
I saw him in October just after the album dropped at a show at UConn. It’s a rawk show of the first order. He actually breaks out the keytar for Frown Song. His UK tour is halted right now, but I’m assuming he’ll be back stateside come summer. If you get a chance to see him you should.
I actually thought this album was the best piano rock album I’d hear in 2008, but Jack’s Mannequin’s The Glass Passenger is so silky sweet it makes my orgasm in my ears.
