So Far, So Much Different

There has been a lot of hand wringing over DOCTOR Daryl's hiring of Doug Marrone to be the new head football coach at SU.  Oh NO not another NFL coordinator with no recruiting ties they say.

Star-divide

I however have been duly impressed with the new head coach's first week or so on the job and it couldn't be more different than that last coordinator that took over the post.  The thing I'm most impressed with is that Doug Marrone seems to be avoiding the biggest mistake DOCTOR Daryl and Greg Robinson made.  Marrone is hiring a high quality staff.  Just the addition of Spence as OC last week ensured that Marrone's staff would have WAY more experience at the college level than Robinson's ever would.

The difference between Brian "Look at my pretty rings" Parini and Rob Spence is lightyears.  Spence has been in the game for way longer, understands the college game and values the climate controlled ban box that the Dome should provide as an advantage.

Marrone understands where he is lacking when it comes to experience and he is surrounding himself with people who can and will complement his skills.  Add Spence's hiring to Anselmo, Conley and Jackson and this staff is going to be a strong asset to Marrone as he tries to bring this team back from the brink.  It has only been a week, but I'm very encouraged by what I see.

lets get Ed Orgeron

and I think this staff will be the best in the league. And talk about recruiting… between the classes that have Clemson has gotten and the talent Orgeron left at Ole Miss we should be about to put Rutgers, BC and UConn in their place as far as recruiting is concerned.

Not sure...

…How Ed O plays with Nancy C. I agree with you it would be a good hire, and that may be why a D coordinator hasn’t been named yet. DM might be waiting for the Saints season to end before raiding that staff.

au contraire

i dont see this guy spense as having worked big time miracles in the nfl.what i do see, lhowever, is the usual bunch of suspects that never shut up 4 years ago. loudly trumpeting all the usual craperoo about some cheezy stale “pro style offense in the dome” blah , blah. and u wait and see, that is gonna be used against us, this barnas kid, being rescinded the scholarship. coaches from other colleges are gonna bring that up for years to come!
